 Nearly 800,000 total hip and knee replacement surgeries are being
performed in the United States annually. During the 90-minute
session on "Advances in Joint Replacement Surgery: A Team Approach,"
area physicians will discuss opportunities for patients, physicians
and hospitals to partner on key aspects of joint replacement surgery
to enhance clinical outcomes. Topics include anesthesia and pain
management, innovations in total hip and knee replacement surgery,
and the importance of a defined plan of care.The participating
physicians are Drs. Dan Adair, Springfield Clinic; Leo Ludwig,
Orthopedic Center of Illinois; Khaled Saleh, SIU HealthCare; and
Scott Sattovia, Associated Anesthesiologists of Springfield.
Light refreshments will be served.
