Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[September 07, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Thursday afternoon, with corn and wheat higher and soybeans slightly lower.

Export news helped to support higher grain futures. Exporters reported to the USDA that they had sold 217,424 tonnes of US corn to an unknown destination.

In wheat, it was reported Egypt bought  475,000 tonnes from Russia, Romania, and the Ukraine, indicating good world demand.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 4 to 8 cents higher at 7.80-8.07.

Soybean bids were mixed at 17.16-17.33.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 2 to 6 cents higher at 7.90-8.17.

Soybean bids were steady to 5 cents lower at 17.42-17.53.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly 7 to 9 cents higher at 7.96-8.26.

Soybean bids were mixed at 17.19-17.47.

Wheat bids were 22 to 24 cents higher at 8.57-8.74.
