The spaghetti-eating contest, sponsored by Fricke Calvert-Schrader, was a huge success during the Saturday evening celebrations at Mount Pulaski's Fall Festival. Each of the participants walked away from the table feeling stuffed full of spaghetti. A few even decided they never wanted to see spaghetti again.

Buff's Family Restaurant prepared the 10 gallons of spaghetti consumed during the contest. The owner was on hand to scoop and weigh each plate that was dished out. The younger contestants competed with about 2 pounds of spaghetti; adult contestants had to consume 3 pounds.

Round one winner was Konjit Mott. She devoured her plate in record time.

The second-round winner was Jacob Meister. He believed that he could have eaten more spaghetti, if he had to.

Finally, the adult-round winner was Brittany McCain, being cheered on by family and friends. Ms. McCain was ecstatic that she beat out "two grown men" for her prize. Surprisingly, after all that spaghetti, the contestants still had room to enjoy the rest of the treats of the fall festival.
