Boy Scout Merit Badge Day at Sugar Grove Nature Center

[September 17, 2012]  McLEAN -- Scouts are invited to take part in the third annual Nature & Science in the Grove Merit Badge Day for Boy Scouts on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sugar Grove Nature Center in Funks Grove.

Scouts will have an opportunity to earn up to two merit badges at this event. Badges can be earned in the areas of Nature, Mammal Study, Bird Study and Astronomy. All classes will be taught by certified merit badge counselors, and participating Scouts will have earned their badges upon completion of the program. This event is a partnership between the Heartland Community College and Sugar Grove Nature Center.

Both individual Scouts and troops are invited to take part of this event. Troop leaders are welcome to attend. Note: The program is for Scouts only -- no parents or siblings

Space is limited, so register today.

The fee is $10 per Scout. Participants should bring a sack lunch. Camping is available for a nominal fee.
