Saturday night as the sun was dropping low on the horizon, it seemed for a while that the events of the day had tuckered everyone out. The barn dance that was supposed to get started at 7 in the beer barn at the Logan County Fairgrounds looked like it might not be very well attended.

However, as the evening went by, folks started showing up, and before long dance caller Ozzie Pearl of Weldon was teaching the group new dance steps and then calling to music. Everyone enjoyed the event, laughing at and with each other as they stumbled and fumbled at first, but eventually got the hang of it and did a great job at an old-fashioned square dance.
