LC coach Mark Tippett commented:

"Friday was a very difficult day for our team. To begin with, we were without our starting setter, Vicky Arriola, who was sick, and then we lost both of our starting middle hitters to injury. In the first match, sophomore Beth Daniels rolled her ankle during a block attempt; then, late in the third set against Clinton, freshman LaTasha Fizer landed awkwardly after a spike attempt, and the impact caused a hairline fracture in her lower left leg. I have never seen such a run of bad luck in all my coaching career.

"I was very proud of how our players rallied around each other to support their injured teammates and continue to play at a high level. We are hopeful that Daniels will be back soon, but we learned that Fizer will be out at least a month, which means we will need to shuffle our lineup once again. I am confident that we will find ways to remain competitive and that our team will continue to improve."

Note: Due to an unresolved scheduling mistake and their injury status, LC did not participate in matches on Saturday.

This week the Lincoln College team will travel to Carl Sandburg College for a match on Tuesday evening and host the Millikin JV at 6 p.m. Thursday.
