Incident: Death investigation
Location: Lincoln, Ill.
Date, time: Sept. 14, 8:03 a.m.
Persons involved: Deceased (name withheld pending
notification of next of
kin)
Assisting agencies: Lincoln Police Department, Logan County coroner's
office
Narrative: At 8:03 a.m. the Lincoln Police Department received
and responded to a call of a barricaded and suicidal subject. Homes
in the vicinity of the residence were evacuated.
Personnel from the Illinois State Police District 9 Patrol, SWAT,
crisis negotiators, forensics and investigations were asked to
assist. Crisis negotiators were unable to establish contact
with the occupant of the house. SWAT gained access to the residence
and found the resident deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Logan County coroner will release the name of the resident once
proper notifications have been made.
