In the days of the early
settlers, neighbors would get together from time to time to enjoy a
huge meal, visit and sometimes engage in some friendly competitions.
Saturday morning there was a tug-of-war match
between the Carters and the Williams family. The members of the
Carter family participate at the festival in the pioneer village, and
the Williams family are all competitors in the railsplitter events.
