Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[September 21, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were lower on Thursday afternoon, with soybean futures sharply lower.

Technical and fund selling at the Board of Trade weakened soybean futures.

A softer tone to the cash soybean market and to the outside financial markets also weakened prices.

Weekly export sales for soybeans were good at 717,700 tonnes.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 11 to 16 cents lower at 7.15-7.32.

Soybean bids were 50 to 51 cents lower at 15.89-15.99.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 10 to 12
cents lower at 7.45-7.59.

Soybean bids were 52 to 56 cents lower at 16.00-16.14.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 10 to 11 cents lower at 7.40-7.62.

Soybean bids were 52 to 55 cents lower at 15.93-16.09.

Wheat bids were 2 to 4 cents lower at 8.45-8.70.
