[September 22, 2012]  DANVILLE -- The Lincoln College men's soccer team traveled to Danville on Thursday for a 4 p.m. kickoff. Danville opened up the scoring first when German Ellington dropped a throw-in, giving Danville an open goal in the opening 10 minutes of play.

Despite getting a couple of chances, Lincoln would trail the whole half until Felix Cordoba was fouled in the box, setting up a penalty kick. However, Danville's goalie got a good read on the try and saved the penalty, keeping the lead for them.

At halftime Lincoln made some changes. Due to the conditions and the narrow field, the Lynx were not able to play their possession-style play and changed to playing a very direct match. Despite having several chances, Lincoln could not put one away and then conceded a penalty kick on a hand ball. Danville would step up and slot the ball away to go up by two goals.

The Lincoln side knew it would take a lot to come back, but the Lynx came up big, scoring two goals in two-minute span following Danville's penalty kick. Lincoln would get the game-winning goal when Diego Rodriguez isolated a Danville player in the box and beat him on the dribble.

Lincoln moves to 3-1 in region play and takes on Region 24 opponent Parkland College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Champaign.
