Lincoln looked strong early as they took the first set 25-19, but
Millikin bounced back to take the second set 26-24. Set three was
just as close, but this time Lincoln came out on top 27-25. In set
four, the Lady Lynx again appeared to have control of the match as
they jumped out to an early 7-2 lead behind the strong serve of
sophomore Kelly Anderson. Millikin was not done, though, as they
fought their way back to tie the match at 12, then take a brief
two-point lead. LC responded and was able to tie the match at 20.
After several intense rallies, Lincoln earned match point on a serve
from freshman defensive specialist Alyssa Morales that resulted in a
MU hitting error. The final score of set three was 25-23.
The victory evened Lincoln's record at 8-8.

LC coach Mark Tippett commented: "It seems like every time we
play Millikin's JV it winds up being a very intense match, and
tonight was no exception. Both teams played very hard and certainly
entertained the crowd.
"I was proud of the mental toughness our players showed as they
played aggressively down the stretch. We did not let late runs by MU
get us rattled and were able to stay calm in difficult situations. I
was especially pleased with our intensity on defense, which led to a
number of strong transition swings for our hitters.
"This was a fun match to have been a part of and a win which
should help build our confidence level as we move forward."
Lincoln College is off this weekend and will next be in action at
