LCHS cross country results at Athens meet

[September 22, 2012]  ATHENS -- At a cross country meet in Athens on Tuesday night, the LCHS girls finished in first place and the boys finished second, missing first by only one point.

The girls defeated Riverton, Midwest Central and Athens.

Maddy Cooper finished the race in third place with a time of 21:02, and Katie Harris finished in fourth with a time of 21:23.

Cooper, Harris, Lizzi Herzog, Brianna Dye, Tiffany Strickler, Kiersten Prater and Rachel Stein set personal records.

For the boys, John Davis won the race with a time of 16:08 despite being sick.

Jake Day, Matt Brewer and Joey Bergman set personal records.

Coach Kaitlin Kwiatkowski said: "The team works very hard at practice and continues to improve every race, and I could not be more proud of them!"
