[September 25, 2012]  GALESBURG -- The Lincoln Christian University women's volleyball team went 2-2 at the Prairie Fire Invitational over the weekend, after going on a five-match winning streak to put LCU at No. 3 in the NCCAA Division II standings.

The Red Lions started off the invitational with victories over Iowa Wesleyan University (3-1) and Knox College (3-0). They then dropped their matches on Saturday to Buena Vista University (1-3) and William Penn University (1-3).

Sophomore Alicia Carson led the Red Lions with 33 kills during the victories over Iowa Wesleyan and Knox. Sophomore Emma Donnelly continued to lead LCU defensively, tallying up 51 digs during the two wins.

Heading into Saturday's games against Buena Vista and William Penn, the Red Lions had extended their season-high streak to seven games. But the offense of the two NCAA Division III teams was too much to handle as LCU won just one game in each match.
