[September 25, 2012]  BLOOMINGTON -- Miller Park Zoo is gearing up for another season of education programs, offering children from preschool age to fifth grade a chance to learn about conservation and get up close to the animals at the zoo.

Registration for all Miller Park Zoo education programs in the fall session is open now. Classes begin as early as Friday.

Animal Crackers is one of the most popular Miller Park Zoo programs. Kids ages 3-5, accompanied by a grown-up, can join zoo staff for stories, animal encounters, crafts, snacks and lots of fun.

ZooExplorers is a two-hour adventure for students ages 6-11. Explorers will learn about life at the zoo, meet some animals and work on a special project.

Winter Safari Camp runs in December to coincide with winter break for ages 6-11. Campers will engage in a daylong group of age-appropriate activities including crafts and animal encounters.
