Motorcycle versus deer accident near Mount Pulaski

[September 25, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- The following accident report was released by Illinois State Police at 12:27 a.m. Tuesday:

Incident: Motorcycle versus deer -- personal injury traffic crash

Location: Illinois Route 54 at Logan County 1200 East (Logan County)

Date, time: Sept. 24, at approximately 11:34 p.m.

Assisting agencies: Illinois State Police, Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Mount Pulaski Rural Fire Protection Department, Logan County Paramedics

Person involved: Everett Qualls, 45, Williamsville

Narrative: Qualls was traveling on Illinois Route 54 westbound at Logan County 1200 East. His motorcycle struck a large deer as the animal was crossing the roadway. Qualls was transported to Memorial Hospital in Springfield with non-life-threatening injuries.
