[April 06, 2013]  JACKSONVILLE -- Lincoln College softball had a strong outing on the field Wednesday afternoon versus the MacMurray JV. The Lady Lynx combined with 16 hits to take the win.

Darrian Chrzanoski led off the game with a solo home run. Jessica Dorgan also hit a solo home run in the top of the first inning to make the lead 2-0.

Leading the offense for the Lady Lynx offense were Darrian Chrzanoski, going 3 for 5 with her home run, two doubles and two RBIs; Gretchen Stenger, 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs; Jessica Dorgan, 3 for 4 with her home run, double, base hit and two RBIs; Kelsey Prater, 1 for 3 with two RBIs; and Taylor Hewitt, 3 for 3 with a triple, double, single and two RBIs. Sarah Garrison, Caitlyn Thompson and Kelsey Prater all contributed doubles.

Jordyn Steiner replaced Kaitlin Akers with a huge strikeout to end the inning with the bases loaded. Steiner gave up no hits and struck out four in two innings of play. Kelsey Prater closed the game, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out three. Steiner picked up the win to improve her record to 3-1.

The Lynx improved to 4-9 overall.

The Lynx were also scheduled to play three more days in a row: at John Wood on Thursday, at home versus Spoon River on Friday and at home versus Lewis & Clark on Saturday, with all three games slated for 2 p.m.
