Amber Fults

[April 15, 2013]  LINCOLN -- Amber DeeAnn Fults, 37, of Chicago, formerly of Springfield, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.

Amber DeeAnn Fults, 37, of Chicago, formerly of Springfield, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.

Amber was born December 28, 1975 in Lincoln IL, beloved daughter of Carolyn Bailey Fults of Springfield and Jeffery Fults of Lincoln. Along with her parents, Amber is survived by sisters Kim (Rick) Freer of Athens and Angie “Bitters” Fults of Springfield, dear nieces Bailey Fults-Peterman and Bryce Fults, several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents George and Delores Bailey and Doc and Shug Fults. Amber is also survived by Pepper, Super Kitty, Mr Cuddles and many, many friends in many, many places.

Amber received her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design from Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago IL. She was currently a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy in Chicago. She recently had been awarded an externship at Connection Day School in Hoffman Estates. After graduating as a fashion designer, Amber worked at a millinery boutique on Michigan Avenue designing and creating hats and wedding veils. While pursuing her PhD, Amber was store manager and buyer at Barker & Meowsky, A Paw Firm.

Amber was a caring person who founded Creative HOPE, facilitating the supervision and teaching of homeless students in creating works of art fulfilling the mission of counteracting the negative effects of homelessness by providing a positive, welcoming and creative environment for many of Chicago's homeless students. She was a volunteer at Chicago HOPES as an art teacher, mentor, and tutor to Chicago's homeless students during one on one sessions through shelter based programs.

Amber's parents, sisters, and nieces will be having a private service officiated by Father Jeffrey Laible. All family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend a Celebration of Amber's Life on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Knights of Columbus in Lincoln, IL at 7:00 pm.
