[April 22, 2013]  McLEAN -- Sugar Grove Nature Center has scheduled a May home-school program on bees. The sessions are:

  • Thursday, May 2, 10 a.m.-noon, ages 6-8

  • Thursday, May 2, 1-4 p.m., ages 9-11

  • Tuesday, May 7, 1-2 p.m., ages 12-16

While honeybees and bumblebees are the most recognizable, there are many types of bees that live in Illinois. In this program, students learn about the life cycles of bees, where they live and why they are so important to the environment.

Registration and prepayment are required. For ages 5-8, the fee is $8 for members of the nature center and $10 for nonmembers. For ages 9 and up, the fee is $10 for members and $12 for nonmembers. For more information or to register, phone 309-874-2174 or email register@sugargovenaturecenter.org.
