[August 02, 2013]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Anthony Rapp has joined "If/Then," the new musical led by Idina Menzel from the creative team behind "Next to Normal."

Previews begin March 4 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Opening night is set for March 27.

Rapp, who originated the role of Mark Cohen in "Rent," will reunited with his former "Rent" co-star Menzel. Rapp's other Broadway credits include "Precious Sons" with Ed Harris, John Guare's "Six Degrees of Separation" and the revival of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."

"If/Then," with music by Tom Kitt, story by Brian Yorkey and direction by Michael Greif, will center on a woman who, on the verge of turning 40, moves to New York with the hope of a new life. It will also mark the Broadway return of LaChanze.
