Mother, daughter, 5, killed in Chicago shooting

[August 14, 2013]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Police say a 5-year-old girl and her 28-year-old mother have died after they were shot in the head.

Authorities haven't released their names, but police say their bodies were found shortly after midnight Tuesday in a home on the city's southwest side.

CPD spokesman Ronald Gaines says investigators also found a 27-year-old man, who had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Gaines says authorities believe the shooting was related to a domestic incident, but haven't released further details.
