[August 20, 2013]  HARTSBURG -- The Lincoln Junior High School Lady Trojans shut the door early on Hartsburg, capturing a 12-2 victory on Monday at Hartsburg.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the LJHS Trojans to put the game away early.

A walk by Mackenzie Antoine (CEL) in the first inning, and a wild pitch, a two-run double by Kayla Maly (WLB), an error and a groundout by Chloe Laubenstein (LJHS) during the second inning fueled the Trojans' offense early.

Brooke Kitner (CEL) racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Trojans. She doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth.

The Trojans got the win thanks in large part to Kayla's dominant eight-strikeout performance. She allowed no earned runs on four hits and no walks over four innings.

The top of the first saw the Trojans take an early lead 1-0. The Trojans' rally started when Kerstin Osborne (LJHS) singled.

The Trojans tacked on another two runs in the fifth. The inning got off to a hot start when Brooke Kitner (CEL) doubled, plating Maddie Tanner (LJHS). That was followed up by Kerstin's single, scoring Brooke Kitner (CEL).

The Trojans piled on three more runs in the top of the sixth. Chloe doubled to start the inning.

LJHS improved to a 3-2 record with the win.
