Public invited to LCU Convocation on Tuesday

[August 22, 2013]  The 69th Lincoln Christian University Convocation will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Earl C Hargrove Chapel Auditorium. Dr. Shane Wood, dean of the Hargrove School of Adult & Graduate Studies, will serve as keynote speaker for the annual event that marks the beginning of LCU's academic year. He will also be formally installed that evening as dean. The public is invited.

Wood was called to serve LCU as dean of adult and graduate studies in June. He previously served as associate professor of organizational leadership at Florida Christian College, now Johnson University Florida. Before that, he served Nebraska Christian College as the chief academic officer (2003-2010) and as an associate professor of pastoral ministry (2000-2003). In addition, he taught at LCU for several years as an adjunct professor in the master's degree program in organizational leadership and the seminary's Doctor of Ministry program.

Wood is published in the International Journal of Leadership Studies and the Baltic Journal of Management. He is an active member of the International Leadership Association and the Academy of Management. He also has full-time ministry experience with youth, administration and preaching in Illinois and Iowa, and he served in interim ministries in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri.

He is a graduate of Ozark Christian College (BBL and BTh), Lincoln Christian Seminary (MDiv) and Regent University (PhD in organizational leadership).

The convocation is scheduled at a later time this year to accommodate attendance for the adult learners of the Hargrove School.
