Grain futures higher, livestock prices lower

[August 24, 2013]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures were mostly higher Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery rose 5.50 cents to $6.46 a bushel; December corn rose 5.50 cents to $4.70 a bushel; December oats were 1.00 cent lower at $3.3150 a bushel; while November soybeans advanced 41.25 cents to $13.28 a bushel.

Beef was lower and pork prices were higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle fell 0.50 cent to $1.2670 a pound; September feeder cattle was 1.05 cents lower at $1.5665 a pound; while October lean hogs were 0.70 cent higher at $.8510 a pound.
