[August 29, 2013]  The Lincoln Youth Football fifth-grade team began their season in a familiar fashion this year as the well-known Thunder and Lightning struck early and often, and the Energizer Bunny got loose as well.

Over the weekend, the team defeated Rochester by a score of 37-16. This opens up year three with the group maintaining their three-year, 17-game winning streaks.

The team was led on offense by Seth Tungate, aka Lightning, who had 144 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Stephen Gleason, aka Thunder, ran 104 yards and provided two touchdowns. The Energizer Bunny, Dylan Singleton, added 70 yards and one touchdown.

On the defensive side, the young Railers were led by Keagan Ferguson, who had eight tackles. Nolan Yates provided seven tackles and Thunder dropped four. The Energizer Bunny hit hard on three tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown. Lighting provided three tackles, and Cade Tanner and Nathan Garriott landed two each.
