[August 30, 2013]  MASON CITY -- Playing this weekend at the Arlee Theater in Mason City:

From the makers of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda, Turbo is a high-velocity comedy about an underdog snail who kicks into overdrive when he miraculously attains the power of super-speed. But after making fast friends with a crew of streetwise, tricked-out-es-car-goes, Turbo learns that no one succeeds on their own. So he puts his heart and shell on the line to help his pals achieve their dreams, before Turbo-charging his own impossible dream: winning the Indy 500.
-- DreamWorks

This animated DreamWorks movie stars the voice talents of Ryan Reynolds (Turbo), Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Samuel L. Jackson, Luis Guzman, Snoop Dogg, Bill Hader and Maya Rudolph.

Moira MacDonald, of Seattle Times and top critic on Rotten Tomatoes, says, "Ultimately, 'Turbo' nicely lives up to its diminutive hero's credo of, 'No dream is too big, and no dreamer too small' -- a pleasant thought, for people of all sizes."

"Turbo" is rated PG for some mild action and thematic elements. Runtime is 96 minutes, and it will play at the Arlee Theater in Mason City Aug. 30-Sept. 2. For further details, click here.
