CEL sweeps Heyworth

[December 02, 2013]  Chester-East Lincoln swept a pair of games from Heyworth on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

The seventh-grade CEL squad took a five-point lead into halftime and came away with a 42-34 victory to get their third win of the season. Nick Toft had 14 points and five rebounds for CEL. Dean Harris pitched in 14 points and grabbed three rebounds. Will Ewald, Nate Arnold and Jace Macintosh each had four points. Thomas Morris rounded out the scoring with two points and got three rebounds.

The CEL eighth-grade team improved to 8-0, winning 51-38. Isaiah Bowers led the Panthers in scoring with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Sam Birnbaum had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Jacobs had seven points and two steals, and Josh Vinson had six points and six rebounds.

The Panthers play at Carroll Catholic on Monday night.
