This year Santa made his debut
appearance in Lincoln for the season in grand fashion. A new
float was designed specifically for Santa, and in the inaugural
ride, one lucky little girl got to ride along.
Main Street Lincoln hosted a
Facebook contest that would result in one youngster being invited
to come to town with Santa. The winner was 7-year-old Ivy Sandel.
Main Street officials had left
pretty big hints that there would be a new Santa float, but surely
no one imagined it would be as spectacular as it was.
As it passed by, kids and
adults alike were in awe of the beautiful float with
hundreds of tiny lights taking on the shape of Santa's sleigh and
reindeer. The float was sponsored by the Lincoln Elks and
by Seth Goodman of ME Realty.
