[December 06, 2013]  Main Street Lincoln hosted the annual Lincoln Christmas Parade on Thursday evening. It was a chilly night, but there was a great turnout from Logan County as children of all ages came out to see the parade. There were 55 entries, one being Santa's new sleigh, made possible by Lincoln Elks Lodge and Seth Goodman, ME Realty.  Accompanying Santa was "Ride Along with Santa" contest winner Ivy Sandel.

Parade judges this year were Lincoln Alderwoman Jonie Tibbs, Lincoln Rural Fire Chief Chad Letterle and Pamela Meagher, Logan County administrative assistant. According to Tibbs, there were so many wonderful entries that it was extremely hard to pick just one. Prize winners are as follows:

  • Best Float — Lincoln Area YMCA school-age program and YMCA cheerleaders

  • Best Vehicle — Cub Scout Pack 111

  • Best Walking Entry — LifePointe Church of God

  • Mayor's Choice — Girl Scout Troop 6682

After the parade Santa made his way to the Logan County Courthouse for a special meet and greet with area children.

If you missed the opportunity to visit with Santa, he will be making appearances at local businesses throughout Lincoln every Saturday until Christmas. For a complete list of locations, visit www.mainstreetlincoln.com.
