Red Lions struggle, lose to Eureka

[December 13, 2013]  EUREKA — The Lincoln Christian University men's basketball team (4-4) took on Eureka College (0-6) in Eureka on Wednesday night. The Red Lions came out strong but ended up giving up the game with a 30-point deficit to the host Red Devils, 93-63, at the end of the contest.

The Red Lions leaped out to an early 10-5 lead, but the Red Devils came back with 14 straight points and outscored the visitors by 25 points over the next 10 minutes. After their early lead, LCU would head to the locker room down 50-28 and not see another lead for the rest of the game. Eureka's offense was powered by five players scoring in double digits, while LCU struggled with a scoring percentage of less than 40 percent.

LCU senior David Graves (Eustace, Texas/Eustace High) led his teammates in scoring with 15 points, followed closely by sophomore Raymond Shegog (Sun River Terrace/Lincoln College) with 14.

The Lincoln Christian University Red Lions return to their home court in the Laughlin Center on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game against the Royals of Grace University.
