Crusaders split 2 in Thursday night play

[December 14, 2013]  Carroll Catholic-New Holland-Zion Lutheran hosted West Lincoln-Broadwell on Thursday evening.

The Crusaders won the seventh-grade contest 57-40. They were led in scoring by Brayton Brown with 21 points, Dylan Singleton with 14 and Jayden Graham with 11. Rounding out their scoring were Denver Hoffert with nine points and Sean Peyres with two.

The Wolverines were led in scoring by Kaden Froebe with 16 points and Blain Robbins and Shane Shumard with seven each. The rest of the Wolverine scoring came from Kameron Whiteman with five points, Justin Long with three and Payton Batley with two points.

The win moves the seventh-grade Crusaders to 10-3 on the season.

The West Lincoln Wolverines won the eighth-grade contest 43-23. They were led in scoring by Jack Eimer with 18 points and Zack Morris with 11. The rest of the WLB scoring came from Blake Jones with five points, Kaden Froebe with four points, and Carter McGraith and Kameron Whiteman with two points each.

The Crusaders were led by Aleck Bailey with six points, followed by Drew Singleton with four and Cole Klockenga with three. Scoring two points each were Clayton Skelton, Austin Gillum, Tylee Arnold, Brayton Brown and Lance Podbelsek.

The next games for CCS-NHM-ZLS will be on Saturday afternoon at Zion Lutheran, as they play host to St. Agnes out of Springfield, with the seventh-graders starting at 1 p.m.
