LINCOLN — Madonna P. Babbs, 85, of
Lincoln, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at 2:30 a.m. at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.

LINCOLN-Madonna P. Babbs, 85, of Lincoln, IL died at
2:30 a.m. December 23, 2013 at Memorial Medical
Center, Springfield, Illinois.
Madonna was born October 24, 1928 in North Muddy
Township, County of Jasper, the daughter of Leland
and Amy Stockwell Wetherholt. She married Robert E.
Babbs October 16, 1946 in Jasper County. He preceded
her in death in September 2004.

She is survived by three sons: Danny (Pat) Babbs of
Middletown; Allen (Frances) Babbs of Lincoln; Bruce
(Carol) Babbs of Oblong, IL; two sisters: Doris
(Harold) Chaney of Chicago; Clarine Brooks of
Newton; one brother: Allen (Ruth) Wetherholt of
Wheeler, IL; ten grandchildren; numerous great
grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
brothers: Eldon and Med; sisters: Patsy and
Virginia; two grandsons: Brian and Leland; and great
grandson Lane.
Services for Madonna will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday,
December 28, 2013 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home, Lincoln. Burial will be in Zion
Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to
service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials
may be given to Donor's Choice.
