2013 LDN Picture of the Year

Taken at the Logan County Fair, this shot by Lisa Ramlow is the 2013 LDN Picture of the Year.

While LDN staff took thousands upon thousands of photos this year, we chose this one for a couple of reasons. Artistically, it shows depth, character and movement in people standing still. The image is clear, and the expressions on the faces show pieces of the personality of the subjects.

Secondly, we chose it because it exemplifies all that is good in Logan County — our youth.

Throughout this past year we’ve covered dozens of events where the young people in Lincoln and Logan County have shown us what they are made of. They consist of clean-cut, hardworking, caring individuals who love their fellowman, their country and their hometowns, and each day of their lives set an example for the rest of us.

This will be the last edition of Lincoln Daily News for this year. As we head into 2014, we want to thank all our readers for continually turning to LDN for all their local news. We also want to thank all our sponsors and advertisers who have made it possible for us to do what we love every day of 2013.

Finally, we wish for all of you peace, love, joy and all that is good in the New Year.
