[February 07, 2013]  SPRINGFIELD -- State Rep. Rich Brauer, R-Petersburg, responded to Gov. Patrick Quinn's State of the State address Wednesday:

"Gov. Quinn is staying on his course, no matter how detrimental the outcome to hardworking and struggling families in this state. I would like to see the governor more engaged in finding solutions to our fiscal mess."

Brauer continued: "No one is talking about entitlements. It's important that we put our entitlement programs back into balance and take the spending pressure off the pensions. Actually, Medicaid spending in Illinois has doubled in the past five years, and we must implement those ‘hard fixes' by improving oversight to cut fraud as well as add residency and recertification requirements."
