West Lincoln-Broadwell hosts Carroll Catholic at season opener

[February 12, 2013]  To open their season, West Lincoln-Broadwell hosted Carroll Catholic on Monday night and split the pair of games.

The WLB Wolverines (1-0) took the fifth-grade game 34-12. Kaden Froebe led all scorers with 20 points, Dreyden Pozgai added eight, Justin Long had four, and Payton Anderson scored two for the Wolverines.

For the Crusaders, Dylan Singleton scored eight, while Jayden Graham and Greyson Rademaker each scored two.

In the sixth-grade game, the Crusaders prevailed 37-21. Denver Hoffert led all scorers with 14 points, while Brayton Brown added 12. Sean Peryes scored four, while Mark Maaks added three, and Drew and Dylan Singleton each had two.

Froebe scored nine points to lead the Wolverines (0-1). Payton Batley and Shane Shumard each had four, while Blain Robbins and Justin Long scored two each.

The Wolverines will host both Chester-East Lincoln and Mount Pulaski on Wednesday. WLB and CEL will play a sixth-grade game only at 5 p.m., followed by fifth- and sixth-grade games with Mount Pulaski beginning at 6:15 p.m.
