LENTEN SCHEDULE
The Congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church will begin the penitential season of Lent with a prayer vigil on Ash Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 9 A. M. until 6 P.M. in the sanctuary. Devotional materials will be available.
Pastor Thomas Kampreth will preside at the Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00 P.M. The Service will include the imposition of ashes.
Each Wednesday thereafter a Lenten Devotional Service will be held with Pastor Lisa Goodwin, St. John’s, Hartsburg and Pastor Kampreth of Immanuel alternating. With the exception of Ash Wednesday, there will be a coffee hour following the service.

There will be an Ash Wednesday service at St. John United Church of Christ, 204 Seventh St., at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The service will include four stations: sin pyre, prayer, communion and imposition of ashes. The United Church of Christ welcomes all people, no matter where they are on life's journey, and practices open communion.

During the Lenten season, every Wednesday morning at 10 a study will be offered on the theme "The Way of Forgiveness." Every Wednesday evening, there will be a Lenten program, "Chocolate for Lent," in the Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m., with a light soup meal served at 6:30 p.m.
Any questions can be directed to Pastor Jan Johnson at the church office, 732-6957.

First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 110 Broadway, will be hosting a Chicken Noodle Dinner on Saturday, March 2nd, from 11am – 2pm. The public is invited.

Lincoln Christian Church would like to invite women to a six week ladies bible study on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. They will be reading the book: “The Story”. The Story is a book full of excerpts from God’s Story, the Bible, and thoughtfully placed in chronological order. Each week they will discuss questions from the following week’s reading. Chantell Mills will also give strategies that will help you to understand God’s Story more fully. This session is great for someone who has never studied the Bible before and will rekindle the flame for God’s Story for those who have known this Story for many years. Sessions will start Monday, January 28 and run thru Monday, March 11th. You may contact Chantell for more details at 217-314-9101 or chantellmills@gmail.com.
