The Logan County Art Association opened its
latest exhibit, "It's All About Love," on Valentine's Day at the
Lincoln Art Institute gallery in downtown Lincoln. This is the
second themed exhibit by the art group since its founding in November.
The association has 10 artists among its members.
Artist and gallery owner Moses Pinkerton was delighted to explain
that his painting "Love at First Sight" could be hung in many
different ways and the central heart would always be aligned
correctly.
Christopher Tice used a unique technique to
craft his piece "Kite." He placed match heads on the canvas in the
pattern he wanted and then ignited them. The burning matches
inscribed the canvas in the pattern he designed.
The Logan County Art Association meets at the Lincoln Art Institute
the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Artists and the general
public are welcome to attend and become members.
