The Humane Society of Logan County does the lion's share of its work through volunteers who daily give their time to animals who have had the misfortune of losing their first home. The first four pictures below are examples of volunteers giving up their Saturday for a cause they believe in. But they are just a few of those who were there working to bring a great meal to guests who came with their wallets open.

Lincoln Daily News offers links to the HSLC website every day and also offers a page featuring animals that are currently up for adoption. You can find this information by clicking on the "Adopt a Pet" button in our Health & Leisure section.

You can also find the animals that are currently looking for forever homes at HSLC by clicking here.

And finally, even the director of the HSLC deserves a little break once in a while.

Here, Ellen Burbage sits down to enjoy a break and a great lunch.
