ATLANTA -- Geneva L. Stedwell, 87, of
Paxton, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at 10:45 p.m. at Heartland
Health Care Center, Paxton.

Atlanta- Geneva L. Stedwell, 87, of Paxton died at
10:45 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Heartland
Health Care Center, Paxton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday,
March 1, 2013 at
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home with Rev. Becky
Barrow officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before the funeral
service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will
follow at Atlanta Cemetery.
Geneva was born May 27, 1925 in Lewisburg, Kentucky.
She married George William Stedwell May 30, 1947 in
Urbana. He preceded her in death March
4, 2006.
Geneva is survived by two daughters, Janet Brown of
Atlanta, Kathy (Joe)
Miller of Elmhurst; two sons, George (Liz) Stedwell
of Peru, IN, Charles
Stedwell of Champaign; 7 grandchildren; 2 great
grandchildren; 1 brother, Jack (Lorraine) Barr of
Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Geneva graduated from Atlanta High School where she
was valedictorian of her class. She attended the
University of Illinois receiving a Bachelor of
Liberal Arts and Science degree in 1946.

She and her husband lived in Loda for ten years
before moving to Paxton. She was a member of the
Loda Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors.
Geneva enjoyed reading and flower gardening.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
