Wolverines take Logan County Conference title

[January 19, 2013]  Twenty-four minutes was not enough time to decide the championship of the eighth-grade Logan County Conference tournament, so the Wolverines and Stags settled it in overtime. West Lincoln-Broadwell outscored the No. 1 seed 10-6 in the extra three-minute period to take home the title Friday night from Jack D Nutt Arena on the campus of Lincoln College.

Casey Mollohan scored 17 points to lead all scorers, to go along with six rebounds and two assists. Zac Montcalm added 12 points, Preston Ebelherr had 11, Alex O'Donoghue scored six, and Nate Sprague added three for the Wolverines (12-4).

Brandon Bolen scored 12 points in the loss for Hartem, Antonio Koit-Kirk had 11, Bradey Wolpert had nine, Alec Hayes had seven, and Alex Vetter chipped in six.

Both teams now move on to 8-1A Regional 10, hosted by Hartsburg-Emden, that starts play Jan. 26.
