SUN CITY, Ariz. -- Katharine L. Zelle,
97, formerly of Lincoln, Ill., died Dec. 31, 2012, at 11:50 p.m.
at her home.

Sun City, AZ.- Katharine L. Zelle, 97, formerly of
Lincoln, died at 11:50 P.M. on Monday, December 31,
2012 at her home.
Katharine was born on December 25, 1915, daughter of
Alvin and Lillie Leimbach Geyer in Mt. Pulaski, IL.
She was united in marriage to Gordon Zelle on June
18, 1939 in Chestnut, IL. He preceded her in death
on October 1, 1999.
Katharine is survived by her daughters: Carol Davis
of Sun City, AZ; and Mary Beth Beeman of Rockford,
IL; and 2 grandchildren. She was also preceded in
death by her parents.
Katharine was a school teacher in Loves Park, IL and
retired in 1972. She was a member of Zion Lutheran
Church in Lincoln.

A memorial service for Katharine will be held at
11:30 A.M. on Thursday January 31, 2013 at the Zion
Lutheran Church in Lincoln conducted by Rev. Mark
Thompson. There will be a private burial at Mt.
Pulaski Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the
Christian Village, Zion Lutheran Church, or the
American Heart Association. Services are being
handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home
in Lincoln.
