Extension offers workshop on soil fertility

University of Illinois Extension
is offering a Feb. 15 workshop on soil fertility. The workshop will
run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Logan County Extension office
and will be taught via distance education, featuring specialists
from Illinois and Missouri.

Nitrogen Management" -- how N rate, timing, source and
additives affect success

Micronutrients" -- which ones and how you know you might
need them
Robert Bellm

"How CEC and
Soil Nutrients are Related" -- why CEC is an important tool
in determining your fertility goal
Pete Fandel

"Utilizing GPS
and Remote Sensing" -- can all farms economically use these
technologies?
Dennis Bowman

"Summary of Regional and State
Research on Soil Nutrients"
Fabian Fernandez.
Five hours of CCA continuing education credit in nutrient
management have been applied for.

Registration costs are $50 per person, which includes meal,
refreshments and handouts. Registration will be due by Feb. 11.
