-- George William Conklen, 95, of Sherman, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013,
at 4:22 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield..

SHERMAN-George William Conklen, 95, of Sherman, IL
passed away at 4:22 p.m.
on January 29, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center,
Springfield, IL.
George was born on September 8, 1917 in New Holland,
Illinois, the son of
Edward and Anna Bruns Conklen. He married Donna
Cross on September 7, 1941 at St. Peter’s Lutheran
Church of Emden. She survives in Sherman.
George is also survived by two daughters: Mona B.
Bentley of Sherman;
Noel Donna (Wayne) Hoffman of Springfield, IL; two
grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

George was a retired dairy farmer; and served on the
Board of Prairie Farms; and was a member of Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church of Sherman.
Services for Mr. Conklen
will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Good
Shepherd Lutheran Church, 500 S. Sherman Blvd., Sherman, IL.
with the Rev. James Stuenkel and the Rev. Mike Schuermann officiating. Visitation will be
Saturday from 10:00 until the hour of the service at the
church. Graveside services will be Monday, February 4 at
1:00 P.M. at Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg, IL.
Services were entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church of Sherman.
