On January 24, 2013, Judge William Yoder accepted a partially
negotiated plea involving multiple charges against Joshua Robbins.
Pursuant to the partially negotiated plea agreement, Joshua Robbins
pled guilty to Aggravated Battery, a class 3 felony. Robbins
committed the offense on March 2, 2012 when he struck Brittany
Spears, who was pregnant at the time, in the face with his fist. In
consideration of that plea, the State dismissed a charge of Domestic
Battery and Violation of Bail Bond. The case is set for a Sentencing
Hearing on March 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
On January 28,
2013, Judge William Yoder accepted a fully negotiated plea sending
Jake Snyder of the 500 block of 2nd Street, in Lincoln, to the
Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) for a third time. Snyder
will spend three years in IDOC for committing the offense of
Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon. Snyder committed the offense on
January 5, 2013 at 5:50AM when he attacked a couple at the
intersection of 1st Street and Jefferson Street, Lincoln, by
striking both individuals in the head with a metal pipe. Neither
victim suffered serious injury, but one victim did have a laceration
on his head and a laceration on his left hand. Snyder will also
spend one additional year in IDOC for committing the offense of
Retail Theft. On November 9, 2012, Snyder took approximately $170.00
of merchandise from Wal-Mart without paying for the merchandise. At
the time of both offenses, Snyder was on Probation for Aggravated
Battery and Criminal Damage to Government Property. Snyder was given
credit for 26 days that he has spent in the Logan County jail.

 On January 28,
2013, Judge William Yoder sentenced Derrick Sims of the 800 block of
East 81st Street, Chicago, for violating his probation, sending Sims
to the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) for three years,
which was the maximum possible sentence. In 2010, Sims committed and
pled guilty to Criminal Trespass to Residence and was given an
opportunity for rehabilitation by being placed on probation. Sims
violated his probation by committing the offenses of Unlawful
Possession of Cannabis and Aggravated Robbery in Cook County.
