[July 13, 2013]  The Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society will host its monthly program Monday at 6:30 p.m. at 114 N. Chicago in Lincoln. Bill Donath, current president of the group and a retired school administrator, will reveal a little-known aspect of the Civil War -- creation of the U.S. Sanitary Commission, forerunner of the American Red Cross.

The program is free and open to the public.
