Marta 'Marty' Boudeman

[July 18, 2013]  NORMAL -- Marta J. "Marty" Boudeman, 58, of Normal, formerly of Armington, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at 8:46 a.m. at her sister's home in Normal.

Normal -- Martha J. (Marty) Boudeman, 58, of Normal, formerly of Armington, passed away at 8:46 a.m. on July 17, 2013 at her sister's home.

Graveside Services will be held at the McLean Cemetery, McLean, Illinois, on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Cheryl Peterson-Karlan officiating.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Funks Grove Chapel of the Trees, Funks Grove, Illinois.

Martha Jane Boudeman was born on July 18, 1954 in Bloomington, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Jones Boudeman.

Martha is survived by her mother in Armington, her siblings: Don (Nancy) Boudeman, John (Greta) Boudeman, Joe (Diana) Boudeman, Bill Boudeman, Mary Glass, Ruth (Bill) Evans, sister-in-law Kathy (Mark) Boudeman Nicholas. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Jim Boudeman and one niece, Joanna Boudeman.

Martha Jane graduated from the McLean-Waynesville-Armington High School in 1972. She then graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachlor of Science Degree in Special Education in December 1975.

Funeral Director

Martha has taught in Illinois, Connecticut and California. She has also taught for Computer for Tots and Sylvan Learning Center. Upon her return from California, she worked the last nine years for Illinois State University at the Stevenson Center for Community and Economic Development. She was the smiling face that greeted every person and she was loved by the students she helped at the Stevenson Center. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Bloomington.

Memorials may be made to Arbor Day Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Association, Unitarian Universalist Church, the Sugar Grove Nature Center, or OSF Hospice.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
