Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Thursday afternoon, with corn slightly higher and soybeans and wheat lower.

Corn futures gained strength from higher than expected weekly export sales figures, with China being the major buyer this week.

China was also a major buyer of US wheat, but weekly sales numbers were under trade expectations.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were mostly 1 to 3 cents higher at 6.74-6.86.

Soybean bids were mostly 6 to 9 cents lower at 15.28-15.46.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were mostly 2 to 4 cent higher at 6.67-6.86.

Soybean bids were 7 to 8 cents lower at 15.58-15.70.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 2 to 3 cents higher at 6.75-6.91.

Soybean bids were mostly 8 to 10 cents lower at 15.57-15.99.
