Local student Ryan Huffer awarded American Legion Auxiliary Mildred R. Knoles Scholarship

[July 17, 2013]  The American Legion Auxiliary awarded Ryan Huffer of Lincoln the Mildred R. Knoles Scholarship at their state convention in Springfield on Saturday. He received $1,000 toward his tuition at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville this fall.

Ryan is the son of Jeff and Patty Huffer and grandson of Charles and June Huffer and Alvin and Teresa Klockenga, all of Lincoln.

The American Legion Auxiliary scholarships are judged on the following criteria: character and leadership; essay on "What My Education Will Do for Me"; and academic achievement and need.

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263, Lincoln, congratulates Huffer on his achievement.
