At 9 this morning the Lincoln/Logan Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cut at the front grates of the Logan County Fairgrounds, and the 77th annual Logan County Fair will officially begin.

For the first day of the fair, there are several things going on, including cat, goat, horse and pony, rabbit, and poultry shows.

The biggest event of the day will be tonight, when several talented young women take the stage to take a stab at becoming the 2013 Miss Logan County Fair.  In addition, over a dozen young ladies will hope to take the title of Little Miss Logan County Fair.

Before the fair even began, the queen contestants have spent several weeks getting ready for this evening's event. Rehearsals have taken place in Mount Pulaski. The ladies have practiced the walk, their talk and their manner on stage. They have put together an entertainment piece, and on Tuesday afternoon they will undergo individual interviews by the judging panel.

On Sunday afternoon, the gals met up for their final rehearsal.
