[June 03, 2013]  The Heritage in Flight Museum and EAA Chapter 129 of Bloomington will sponsor a Young Eagles flight day on Saturday at the Logan County Airport.

The EAA Young Eagles program was started in 1992 to give interested young people ages 8-17 an opportunity to fly in a general aviation airplane. The flights, which are free of charge, are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, children ages 8-17 are invited to come out (weather permitting) and experience the joy of flight firsthand. Children must be accompanied to the airport, 1351 Airport Road, by a consenting parent or guardian, who will be required to sign up their child in person for the flight.

The Experimental Aircraft Association in Bloomington-Normal was founded in 1962 as a spinoff of the Champaign chapter. The group has an on-the-ground location at the Central Illinois Regional Airport.
