[June 06, 2013]  The Lincoln Christian University men's basketball program has announced the signing of Calvary Academy (Springfield) senior Jimmy Smylie.

The 6-foot-4 forward-guard is coming off an impressive senior year with the Calvary Academy program. As a senior, Smylie was looked on to be a leader on the court, as he had to play multiple positions between the guard and the forward spots. He was able to step up to the expectations as he led Calvary, averaging 15 points per game, four rebounds per game and three assists per game.

On his decision to sign with Lincoln, he said: "I just felt it was a great fit for me, with it being close-knit and family-oriented. It will allow me the opportunity in upcoming years to grow as a student-athlete in my faith. Lincoln will help me grow into a man on and off the court from a spiritual and mental standpoint."

LCU head coach Mac Ingmire, said this about the signing: "I'm extremely excited about being able to sign Jimmy Smylie (Tuesday) for our men's basketball program. He is an individual that will be able to bring us some versatility on the court with his size and scoring capabilities, while most importantly, being an individual that wants to grow in his faith. Jimmy is the type of kid that any program would jump at the chance to have because of his talent and character. We look forward to having him here on campus and working with him from day one."
